美国空军在华空军作战司令部的艺术家在一架美国飞机机身上画完徽标的最后一笔。这支空军队伍由陈纳德将军领导。现在陈纳德将军负责指挥在华美国空军，他曾经是美国空军援华志愿队即“飞虎队”的指挥官，这支队伍在美国正式对日宣战之前便来到中国。这个新的徽标里，戴着山姆大叔帽子的老虎象征“飞虎队”，如今正式代表美国空军；老虎正撕碎日本旗；青天白日表示它的使命在中国。

New Insignia for U.S.Army Planes in China

An artist of the China Air Task Force Fighter Command of the United States Army Air Force puts the finishing touches on the insignia of aU.S.Plane.These men and planes fly under the command of Brigadier General Claire L.Chennault,who is in charge of the American air force now in China and formerly commander of the American Volunteer Group,called the"Flying Tigers"which flew in China before the United States entered the war against Japan.In the new insignia,the tiger,wearing Uncle Sam's hat to represent the"Flying Tigers"now flying with the U.S.Army Air Forces,is shown tearing the Japanese flag to shreds.The Chinese sun indicates themission in China.
